Graduate Program

Financial Support

Most M.S. and Ph.D. students admitted to our program are supported by research assistantships, scholarships, teaching assistantships, fellowships, or (for foreign students) by grants from other countries or international agencies. The Graduate Division of UCR offers several fellowships and other grants to students. For example, domestic out-of-state candidates may be eligible for a one-year nonresident tuition grant (residency can be established after the first year, making students eligible for lower in-state tuition fees in subsequent years). The deadline for most of these awards is January 5. Applicants are urged to submit their applications for graduate school prior to the deadline for full fellowship consideration. The absolute deadline to apply for fall admission is May 1. The program also considers Winter and Spring admission, please note that priority for financial support is given to Fall admits.
